And so we come to the end of this wild, crazy, difficult and amazing book which for me has been a great healing experience and one that has stretched me into new thinking. Healing, as I have stated all along, that has helped my view of the end to go from literal to symbolic, judgment to grace, wrath to love. Healing, this in turn, will help me– to help heal the world. I hear God say he’s got my back, justice will come, it will ALL be made right, just wait, I am coming soon so get the word out.
My new revelations on Revelation that I now have come to understand about this book are: (a) That this book was written by John to the seven churches but we are also the seven churches (b) That most of this book is again symbolic and not literal so I don’t have to figure out what everything means (c) That God does not do an about face in Revelation and start blowing up things that he has loved for the other sixty-five books; that this book too is about the continued Redemption that God seeks for us. (d) That his patience far outweighs mine when it comes to justice of evil, but if left unredeemed, evil will kill itself (e) That everything will be made new, heaven and earth; a do-over of what Adam, Eve and all of us got wrong while on earth (f) That in the end we do win the best prize ever—to be the bride and be reunited with the lamb of God for all eternity singing praises with the multitudes, hanging out in perfection, and truly enjoying our new life.
NT wraps up his thoughts by saying,” This book has been a revelation of Jesus, a testimony to Jesus, an act of homage to Jesus.” Amen.
On a personal note, I have found this experience to have been a most honored privilege; to have journeyed with you, NT, and the fellow authors for the past forty six days has been both challenging and rewarding. Verse 9 says, “I am a fellow-servant with you, and with the other members of your prophetic family, and with those who keep the words of this book. May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you all (verse 21).” These are John’s words but he speaks for me as well.
