I’ve heard that the sea is chaos (in the bible). But God has control over chaos–He has set limits to where the sea can go and He has measured the sea.
Within the first two verses of Genesis, the spirit of God is hovering over the water. Here as we close out the bible, God, once again, has control over water in that He has a sea so calm it’s like crystal.
Still, why does God have the symbol of chaos in his throne room? Wright indicates that there’s still an element of danger around God’s plan because this sea is still around.
Alright, I’ll buy but what does that tell me about God? Should I take from this that there’s some possibility that all of this could go horribly wrong in the future? Maybe it’s too early to tell.
