Globalization fascinates me. Even though I’m only in my mid-thirties, it astounds me how much industrial and information technology continue to shrink our planet. While we reap many benefits from this trend – cultural awareness, reduced cost of goods, better medicine to name a few – we have not escaped unscathed. The financial crisis in Europe dominates world news, regional disasters like last year’s Pacific tsunami cause global supply chain problems across industries, and ethnic diversity is sacrificed at the alter of global efficiency.
But I imagine Christ’s reign as the best of globalization without the pitfalls. Every culture enjoys validation before the throne. Of course, little problems like money and economic exploitation with be distant memories. And best of all, we will participate in a kingdom of peace and blessings we can only begin to imagine. Now that sounds like good news!
